The course is superb, interesting, and Janet's coaching is second to none.... she sure knows this business!! At the end she encouraged me to "follow my dreams" - which I did! Georgette:'Having arrived at my career crossroads it was time to venture to pastures new - now I had the opportunity to indulge my passion of TRAVEL! Frank: Thanks for the supportAnyone who is employed as a Tour Manager to-day needs to focus and constantly improve ones'skills and specifically keep up to date with developments in the Industry. This course enabled me to improve my knowledge and to learn "best practice" for tour guiding . It is an excellent 3day programme designed to give professionals a more comprehensive knowledge of management of tours.
Ali: Excellent CourseAn excellent course - full of content. It enables tour managers to consolidate and build on their existing knowledge and learn some new skills so that they are able to offer exceptional service to customers on all their tours.
Roger Lord: Advanced Tour ManagerI retired from the Police force and then decided that I had better do something else. I attended one of Janet's courses in 2000. She fixed me up with my first job and I haven't stopped travelling since. I've been all over the world. Stayed in some fantastic hotels and met some wonderful people. In 2010 I attended Janet's Advanced Tour Manager's course where I learnt a great deal and met some great people. I'm off to New Zealand, on tour, in February 2011.
Sharon Tilt: Money well spent!I attended the course in July this year and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very informative and prepares you very well for the role of tour manager. I left the course feeling absolutely exhausted, but raring to go. In the last month I have just completed my first two tours with Newmarket (Uk shortbreaks) I used lots of the info that Janet gave us, and it proved to be first class training and advice. I got good feedback from the passengers - and the coach driver on my first tour said he thought I had been doing it for several years! I have now just received an email from Solos and am awaiting a date for interview and hope to secure some christmas work with them. If you dream of being a tour manager, then this is the course that will open the doors - just go for it! you wont regret it!
Penny Doran: Fantastic!I have just completed the 3-day course in Peterborough and I just have to report back on what a FANTASTIC course it is!!! Very informative, intense, enjoyable and the content was superb! We had two guest speakers who were very experienced in the Tour Manager's role (having of course done the course!) and were excellent ! The group were great as well, which only added to the enjoyment as a whole! People from all walks of life who just want a career change for whatever reason and I am hoping to start work soon in my dream role. This is something I have wanted to do for years and now I may have the opportunity as I've had such a goof start ! Thank you Janet for everything - you certainly know your trade and it was a wonderful course ! Good luck to everyone out there.....just do it !
Elaine Caulfield: Excellent CourseSolo's Holidays advised me to contact Janet and attend her excellent Tour Manager's Course when I made enquiries about becoming a Tour Leader with them. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the course and learned a great deal, meeting some good friends along the way. Janet is a real inspiration as were her guest speakers, including a former student who had just returned from a trip to Australia! The course isn't just for a few days because Worldwide Travel Training also provide ongoing support and advice and are always just an email away. The month after the course I applied for my dream job with Solo's holidays and was delighted to be called forward for a first interview.....then a second interview.....and then they offered me the position of Tour Leader for their Black Sea Coast summer season in Bulgaria. I've been in Bulgaria since late May (I do pop back to the UK on short breaks now and again!) and will finish the season at the end of Sept. I've submitted my 'dream sheet' for the winter season so who knows?? Maybe a spot of skiing? This opportunity has really changed my life for the better. It would never have been possible without Janet and her team at Worldwide Travel Training. So from the heart an enormous THANK YOU! If anyone is reading this who is hesitating before signing up for the course my advice is JUST DO IT! You certainly won't regret it.
Marie Stokes: Opening the doorThank you Janet for opening the door for me. I have just completed my first year with Newmarket Holidays. This year I intend to spread my wings and have applied for Travelsphere Europe......I have an interview on 17th February so wish me luck! The life of a Tour Manager is early mornings, late nights, must be good at paperwork, have a good memory, like people and mus be a good listener. When I come home, I'm absolutely shattered and exhausted but within a few days I am missing it and cannot wait for my next tour! I truly love my new career, it must be in the blood.....thanks Janet!
Pam Toulson: Thank youI would like to say thank you for making the course so interesting and informative. Having decided that becoming a Tour Manager is what I would like to do with my future, I now feel ready to start out. I have after only 2 weeks been offered my first short mini cruise and hope this will be the first of many offers of employment. Anyone thinking of a career change into tour management, or in need of training should attend this course. Janet has a wealth of knowledge that she shared with us, the group were friendly and were made to feel as ease. A fantastic course.
Stephen Western: Change of CareerHaving decided it was time for a change of life and career I was recommended Janet's course, and don't regret a second of it!! It was professional, entertaining and well put together. Four weeks later I have just finished my first weekend tour, which was hugely enjoyable, and it confirmed my initial feelings that this was a good move for me. It was interesting to see other coaches checking into the same hotel, none of them as well prepared or professional as me, and this is all thanks to Janet. As I write I am waiting on other tour companies and look forward to much more work in this new field. I would wholeheartedly recommend this course for anyone thinking about becoming a tour manager, as it will prepare you completely for anything that can be thrown at you!
Kevin Murray: 18 months onIt is now 18 months since I finished the course and I haven't looked back. I am glad I took the course at the beginning of my career change as it really does help open doors. Janet has a lot of contacts in the travel industry to help get you off to a good start and even now 18 months on I still hear from her with offers of work. If you're thinking of becoming a Tour Manager get yourself booked on a course.....you'll be gad you did.
Kevin Murray: Brilliant CourseWhat a brilliant course. Only just finished but wanted to share the experience. If you are thinking of going into Tour Management you couldn't get a better start. Janet Carries out the whole course professionally and with humour making sure everyone is fully involved and giving so much advice and guidance based on her own experience. The whole group came away buzzing and raring to go, thanks Janet for a great 3 days....All the best!
Helen Cheatham: InvolvedJust wanted to say "Thank you" Janet for the weekend course your professional approach to the job of Tour Manager was great, and has made me realise there is a lot more involved than just counting passengers on and off the coach! I have applied to various companies and now await the influx of job offers! I would recommend anyone to do this course, even if you think you have got all of the skills already, its the inside knowledge that Janet gives which is worth it's weight in gold. Go on do it......you know you want to!!!!
Christine Rumsley: Early DaysI haven't yet secured a Tour Manager position but it is early days yet as I have not long completed the course. Janet has given me the confident push and insight into the job and now I am much more confident.......applications have been flying out of my postbox! This course is excellent value for money and I highly recommend it to any person(s) hoping to enter this sector of the travel trade. Many thanks Janet & staff!
Michael Knight: Superb 3 daysSuperb 3 days. Great delegates and Janet passes on her travel experience in a concise and interesting way. The roll plays and exercises are valuable and great fun. Nobody should contemplate becoming a Tour Manager without attending this course first. And after the course there will be ongoing support to help you secure work.
Geoff Nugent: Great CourseWhat a great training course I attended in September. It was three days of great fun and hard work, I really enjoyed the course and have gained so much knowledge about tour management. The people on the course were wonderful and so was Janet, a great tutor. In fact I said to Janet I wish this course could go on all week. I have already done some tour work and really enjoyed it!
Ian Thomas: Comprehensive CourseA comprehensive course for anyone wishing to start a career as a Tour Manager. From start to finish the standard of tuition is professional, and intensive. Unlike some tutorial companies, the level of support from Worldwide Travel Training does not stop at the end of each course. Going on to help each participant to find employment and a career path as a Tour Manager. Having attended the Tour Manager Course, and found employment, I can highly recommend Worldwide Travel Training.
Philippa Day: ConfidenceJanets' course gave me the confidence and training I needed to take a new direction in my life and to start again. It has opened up a new world of people and places with a tremendous sense of achievement and pride that I get from returning from a trip knowing that everyone in the party has had a good time. The course was informative, fun & hard work but all worth it for the amazing content it offered - I could not believe how much we learnt in a short time. Not only from Janet but from the other candidates, we all supported each other and had a lot of fun along the way.
Edward Brooks: Opened my eyesThere is a lot more to tour management than I ever imagined. The course certainly opened my eyes and educated me. It is a fascinating course professionally written and presented by Janet Goodwin. I was looking for a new direction from my 30 year selling career and went on the course with an open mind on one hand and scepticism on the other. Three days of education, fun, and good company certainly enlightened me and changed my focus. Thank you to thoses on the course with me for the fun we had and a special thanks to Janet who truly taught me my new career. Thank you.
Gillian Riley: SupportJanet's course is well recommended to anyone interested in becoming a Tour Manager. The training course is a good base for anyone interested in starting out as a Tour Manager, and even for some who are already working in the industry. Not only does Janet give a wealth of knowledge, she supports you years after. Janet has given me several introductions, together with my hard work and her trust in me i've progressed nicely, and have a prosperous future ahead of me.
Denise Norbury: Thoroughly recommendedI can thoroughly recommend the Worldwide Travel Training course in tour management. It was a fully comprehensive course covering a wide range of scenarios you may encounter as a tour manager. Janet Goodwin ensures the 'best practice' is promoted throughout provides ongoing support to delegates looking to work in the travel sector. She has her finger on the pulse of the travel industry! you
Denise Norbury: Five years onFive years later and I am now a well-established tour manager working throughout Europe! The initial investment I made in undertaking the Worldwide Travel Training Course has paid off several times over as I have built a new career for myself. I recommend anyone thinking of making an important career change to just do it - you will never look back! Janet is still supportive after all this time - we keep in touch and occasionally she is able to recommend me to other tour operators - thank you Janet.
Rachel Park: This course is aIf you are considering a career in Tour Management then the Worldwide travel Training Tour Manager Course is a "must do"! Janet and her team have an excellent knowledge of 'how the industry works' and the course gave me an invaluable insight into the role and expectations of a Tour Manager. The course is well constructed, fun and will provide you with the foundations for a successful and happy career in Tour Management. Thank you Janet for opening up my world!
Simon Whitehouse: Practical and HumourousI can honestly say that the foundation of my success as a tour manager is Janet Goodwin's Tour Manager training. Janet has a vast Knowledge of the travel industry and her years of experience enable her to teach a comprehensive set of skills which are essential. In particular, the exercises used are based on real situations (many of which I have encountered!) Janet relays all of the realities of the business in both a practical and humourous way which you are sure to enjoy!
Martin Denyer: Excellent IntroductionAn excellent introduction to the role of a Tour Manager. The Worldwide Travel Training course provided me with the tools to work in a professional and organised manner. I successfully completed the 3 day Tour Manager training course in November 1999 and have been able to work continuously since that time. The job role has given me the opportunity to visit some amazing countries and meet some wonderfully interesting people. Janet's knowledge and experience of the travel industry has proved to be invaluable, and has helped me to create a career that I thoroughly enjoy. Every day now feels like a Saturday.
Cally Baker: Superb TrainerI really enjoyed Janet's course - she is a superb trainer and she passed on everything you need to know about the role of Tour Manager. But more than that - she works behind the scenes for you and I know I would not have got the breaks I did without her support. I followed her advice and learned the trade by doing short breaks in the UK for 6 months. I was then offered work in Canada and Russia in summer 2007. I would not have felt confident to do any of it without her help.
Tim Silver: Great CourseGreat course......learned loads despite having worked i tour operations before. Work came thick and fast, particularly due to contacts made during the training. No regrets, only full of praise. The course opens doors......it's up to you to walk through them!
Sue Lewcock: AmsterdamWednesday 12th September 2007 - exactly 4 months to the day since I completed your Worldwide Travel Training course. The course I didn't think I really needed, but of course I did. And I didn't have to wait for the phone to ring - my first tour to Amsterdam was offered within a fortnight, and I have been working all summer for three different companies - doing short breaks as you suggested to France, Holland, Germany and Belgium - and Uk too. Getting experience and learning and now, thanks to your training and ongoing support and encouragement, I'm taking a group to Canada and the Rockies, followed by what I really wanted to do more than anything - taking a group to New Zealand. I can't thank you or recommend your course enough - without Worldwide Travel Training and your personal commitment to give your students the very best chance of success, I would still be wishing and hoping!
Lynne Maskell: Change of CareerHaving decided that I wanted to move to a career in Tour Management, Janet's course gave me the information I needed to finally pursue my goal. Not only did I gain a great deal of information about the 'job' which has proved so helpful on my tours, but I also came home far better informed about how to get the job, who to contact and how to prepare for selection. In addition, Janet as a wealth of personal experience in the industry to share and I know she is available for support should I need it. Thanks Janet
Sue Bantin: Well StructuredI completed the course in September but was unable to start working until after Christmas. It was an informative and well structured course, giving an in depth insight into all aspects of work as a Tour Manager. Janet was very professional and I made friends who I hope to keep in touch with for a long time to come. Although after submitting CVs, work was slow arriving, I have now completed three UK tours for three different companies. I have another three tours to look forward to in August. I have encountered many of the problems that were warned may happen, but I was well prepared, kept smiling and was able to resolve the issues to the passengers satisfaction. This is a job that I hope to do for many years to come......thanks Janet!
Liz Smith: Adrenaline BuzzAfter spending several years based overseas already working in tourism, family circumstances brought me back to the UK......but as all who know who work in tourism, if you truly enjoy it, it consumes your soul, and all those happy and terrible work experiences really give you an adrenaline buzz. Hence it is extremely hard to give up! By attending Janet's course my goals and dreams were reconfirmed, and now I am able to live i UK and have the privilege to work for Travelsphere, and escort some wonderful tours. The course was perfect. Janet had very thoughtfully put together every aspect of working within tourism, with the understanding of peoples expectations and how to deal with every eventuality, that might occur (and of course it does). The content of the course was detailed, concise, extremely interesting and was a true representation of what to expect when working in the role of Tour Manager. Her personal representation of "first hand" experiences summarised totally her passion and understanding for this particular role. Anyone who wishes to have a greater understanding and appreciation of the role of a "Tour Manager" or anyone who would consider such a position, should put their names down for her course. It was superb! I would like to use this opportunity to say thank you......because now I'm exactly where I want to be and without Janet and her course, maybe I wouldn't be!
C Thomas: Take offHaving completed the course and sent away the CV, nothing happened for nearly two months and the it took off! I have done three trips to the Rhine and Black Forest. April, May and June 2007 saw me aboard a cruise ship and I back there again later in the year. To date I have done nothing in the UK (too busy elsewhere).......Worldwide Travel Training is certainly the key to enter this world!!!
Diana Leclerc: MotivationI had been a resort rep before I went on Janet's course, so I had some previous general knowledge, but Janet's course was super for giving me confidence and motivation to change direction and to be a Tour Manager.
Anne Groeneveld: Calendar filling upIt took a while for the phone to ring after CVs had been sent but once the phone rings with work it is good to see the calendar filling up. Through choice I have started off with some nice weekend work and day trips but the I had a phone call to see if I would like to take a group to Canada! Wow, here we go, all the training gets put into good use and preparation is definitely the key to success. I used so much of the training material and fortunately the Tour Company gave me lots more info too (what I would term an Idiots Guide!). The first few days away I kept smiling and worked like a robot, very little sleep and ran on nervous energy! The passengers were busy enjoying themselves and didn't know what went on behind the scenes to make things happen and quite rightly so. Then as I got into the swing of things sleep came and a sense of calm returned to me and I started to enjoy the trip too. I have been asked if I would do more and yes I would, these will be along side my short trips to have the best of both. So if you are looking at the guest book and wondering if this is for you, go on you have made that first step and I promise it is well worth the 3 days in Janet's tender care.....thanks again Janet for all your support!
Sylvia Grady: ComprehensiveThe course was comprehensive, informative and participative without being too intense. Although I already have extensive overseas experience within the travel industry, I found the content to be interesting and informative and I am sure it will be of great assistance in the future. I enjoyed the hardworking yet relaxed and friendly atmosphere during the course. Janet's professional and friendly manner ensured that everyone gained the maximum benefit from her expertise and invaluable inside knowledge. Thank you Janet, your enthusiasm is contagious and I am really looking forward to my new role as a Tour Manager.
Jane Hiner: Course was superbJanet's course was superb - I came away after the three days knowing for sure that this is what I want to do with my life. Since I went on a tour of Canada four years ago, which had the services of a tour manager (who Janet trained) I have wanted to do this kind of work. Finally, the time is right for me to go ahead with my dream. The course has armed me with the knowledge and confidence to put myself forward and say 'I will be good at this job'. I can not wait to get started. many thanks Janet!
Dougie Roberts: 20 Tours this year! After I completed your Tour Managers Course, I was offered an eight day tour to the Isle of Wight. After I completed the eight days, I was offered six more tours. Now I have completed twenty tours in less than a year! On reflection, I now realise I should have done the course years ago! Will keep in touch. Regards Dougie
Marie Stokes: Third SeasonThought I would tell you I am still working for Newmarket. I am now looking forward to my third season with them. Its great when I meet up with fellow TMs on different tours. I have had my share of problem passengers, accidents, people getting ill on tour. coaches that break down and coaches that have been impounded by the ministry! The biggest thing to remember is to smile, smile, smile......it is a great job! I have been up and down Great Britain, stayed at some wonderful hotels and met some really lovely passengers.....there are never two trips the same!
Anne Groeneveld: InformativeHaving just completed the November course, words that spring to mind are.....informative, intense, tiring, professional, fun, but above all beneficial. Nothing we learnt or did on the course would not be used in a day in the life of a Tour Manager. Things that I may not have thought about, useful tips and processes to make your days run smoothly. I should have done this years ago but now that I have i will be making the effort after Christmas to change my career and life in 2007 all thanks to the course and Janet's knowledge, support and encouragement.
Francesca Taylor: OctoberI completed the course with Janet mid-October and can only agree with the other comments on this page that the course is very thorough and the notes leave no stone unturned. I have applied with about three companies so far - I have received acknowledgement from one and I am eagerly awaiting other replies. Whilst it still feels quite daunting I am sure that like most situations it is best just to dive in....can't wait for the phone to ring!
Kevin Murray: Never looked backIt is now 18 months since I finished the course and I haven't looked back. I am glad I took the course at the beginning of my career change as it really does help open doors. Janet has a lot of contacts in the travel industry to help you get off to a good start and even now 18 months on I still hear from her with offers of work. If you're thinking of becoming a Tour Manager get yourself booked on a course.....you'll be glad you did.
Dianne Williams: FunHaving just completed this course, I can't wait to add my comments. The course is very intensive, but fun and you leave with a wealth of knowledge about the travel industry and being a Tour Manager. I hope to work fairly soon and to try and justify Janet's faith in me. Everyone on the course enjoyed it and when we left, felt that we had achieved something. Janet Goodwin is a brilliant tutor. If you want to work in the travel industry as a Tour Manager - GO FOR IT!!!!
Elizabeth Swan: First JobThank you for your help in gaining me my first job as a Manager with Newmarket Holidays. I have worked on four tours and have another two in August. The work is good fun and I have been to some lovely places.

Marie Stokes: Opening the doorThank you Janet for opening the door for me. I have just completed my first year with Newmarket Holidays. Caroline McIntosh: InformativeNine month's ago I attended the 3 day Tour Manager training course in Peterborough and found it excellent in every way. Informative, practical, hard work, but fun!
Mark Collins: Fantastic!I have just returned from the Tour Management course in Peterborough and I simply have to say what a fantastic course it is. Our group was great and both Janet and Elaine delivered the information very well. The course is concise and easy to understand, but the sheer amount of knowledge you gain is simply fantastic. I can guarantee within the three days you will be raring to go out and lead a tour of your own. Highly recommended.
Ani Patel: May 2009Dear Janet I would like to start by thanking you for your hospitality extended, during our stay in Peterborough. Now to the course. What can I say? It was so well prepared and presented. It certainly gave me a thorough insite into a career which I intend to embark upon. I admire your experience and professionalism and I feel happy that I can always look upon you for advise and guidance as I make a slow and steady progress in this exciting field. I am positive that it has been a good investment. I have appended my CV herewith, which please review at your convenience and feel free to comment upon before I start submitting it to tour operators. I looked at the Newmarket website and there are lots of short breaks in Europe which interest me. Whilst I may not have travelled to some of those destinations, I feel confident to conduct a tour as long as I dont have to guide it through cities. I am also open to do a tour in the shadow of an experienced tour manager just to know a particular destination. Just a thought. Once again Janet, thank you for everything and hope to hear from you at your convenience. Shamim conveys his regards and shall contact you directly within the next day or so. Best wishes Anil
